Vânia Carvalho graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in Production Engineering and holds a Master in Administration and Marketing from Pontifícia Universidade Católica.

She started her career with ExxonMobil Brazil where she held various assignments through the 1990’s in Engineering and Commercial, her last position being the Head of Engineering for Brazil. In 2000 she moved to the USA to lead ExxonMobil’s South and Central Americas teams responsible for Engineering Standards.

In 2002 she moved to the Upstream organization and since then has held a number of international positions including 5 years in Qatar as a member of the RasGas Marketing Committee and Head of RasGas LNG Short Term Sales. Other assignments included executive leadership roles in US NGLs and Gas, the Golden Pass LNG Project, and the Alaska project. Most recently she was Brazil’s Commercial Director and Global M&A Executive. Currently she co-leads the BRATECC Energy Committee.
