Augusto Lopes

Augusto Cesar Calazans Lopes, with 13 years at the helm of the Bemisa Group, has been a transformative leader. Initially joining as CFO in 2008 and taking over as President in 2010, he spearheaded the company's operational shift, turning it into a fully operational mining entity within seven years—an industry milestone.

Under Augusto's leadership, Bemisa, operating in all Brazilian regions, manages a diverse mineral portfolio, including iron ore, gold, nickel, rare earths, phosphate, and limestone. With 11 projects nationwide, the company employs over 1,000 professionals.

The Baratinha Mine, ISO-certified for quality, environmental, and safety standards, boasts over 3,500 accident-free days. The recently commissioned Água Azul operation, in southern Pará, emphasizes dam-free waste disposal.
Before his impactful role in mining, Augusto spent 11 years at the Opportunity Group, managing Private Equity investments exceeding $10 billion. His extensive portfolio includes leadership roles in Port Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, and Agro Business.

Additionally, Augusto served on the Fiscal Council of major publicly traded companies. He holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from IBMEC and a degree in Accounting from Universidade Cândido Mendes (2000).
